Opportunity description

As part of the renewal of the washing installation at Vienna Central Station, numerous electrical and mechanical components in the installations on tracks 251 and 252 will be replaced. The main focus of the work is the replacement of frequency converters of various power classes, including the associated Profibus cards, in the areas of the left and right washing portals, soaking station, scrubbing station, rinsing station, and chemical station. In addition, several inductive switches, together with their connection cables, will be renewed to ensure reliable position and operational monitoring of the installation. In the area of water treatment and chemical dosing, the replacement of pH electrodes is also planned. To increase operational safety, new light barriers, including protective covers, cabling, and installation materials, will be retrofitted. Furthermore, various drive motors for swiveling, tilting, rotational, and brush movements within the washing portals and cleaning stations will be replaced. All components will be dismantled, newly installed, electrically connected, and commissioned. The work also includes the required tests, functional checks, and adaptation of the drive technology to the current state of the installation. Overall, the measure is intended to increase the availability, operational safety, and long-term spare-parts supply of the washing installation at Vienna Central Station.
