Belgium – River regulation and flood control works – Contract for routine maintenance, minor repair and dredging works to be carried out on non-navigable first-category watercourses in the Upper Meuse, Lesse and Sambre sub-basins

Opportunity description

The purpose of this contract is minor repair, repair and dredging works to be carried out over a period of one year on all first-category watercourses managed by the Namur District and forming part of the Sambre, Upper Meuse and Lesse river basins. The works are located in the Provinces of Namur, Luxembourg and Hainaut. All works, supplies and costs not included in the special specifications or on the plans, but arising directly or indirectly from those described in the special specifications or in its annexes, such as miscellaneous costs, safety and signage measures, replacement of defective supplies, restoration of the works during the warranty period… are included in this contract. The works consist of localized interventions and cover the following operations: Vegetation management works • hazardous pruning and felling • maintenance of bank vegetation (felling, pruning, stump removal, brush clearing) • planting and propagation by cuttings • control of invasive plants Watercourse maintenance works • dredging and cleaning of watercourses • removal of logjams • disposal of waste and dredged material Earthworks and materials management • earthworks (fills and excavations) Ecological improvements and vegetative techniques • construction of works using vegetative techniques (brushwood barriers, semi-permeable groynes, fascines, vegetated crib walls, living mats) • improvements to habitats, spawning grounds or hydraulic annexes of watercourses Masonry works and hydraulic structures • demolition of concrete and masonry structures • underpinning of structures using formed concrete • construction of reinforced-concrete structures • masonry works • maintenance and repair of small hydraulic structures Bank protection and riprap • localized protection and repair of banks by laying rough riprap • construction of pitched riprap revetments with parallel, fitted faces Hydraulic management and temporary devices • construction of cofferdams • water management Procedure: open.
