SUBJECT OF THESE SERVICES Rental and maintenance of (flat) linen for De Maaspoorte residential care centre in Maaseik. EXPLANATION The contracting authority wishes to conclude an agreement for the rental, maintenance, collection and delivery of (flat) linen for De Maaspoorte residential care centre in Maaseik, with a capacity of 124 residents. The contract includes making available, cleaning, maintaining, collecting and returning the (flat) linen. The contractor shall perform these services with the utmost care for quality, hygiene, continuity of service and sustainability. Flat linen includes, among other things: • fitted sheets; • sheets; • washable underpads; • pillowcases; • bath towels; • washcloths; • kitchen towels; • dishcloths; • microfibre cloths. The contract also includes the occasional washing and treatment of contaminated linen, in accordance with the applicable hygiene and safety regulations. PERFORMANCE OF THE SERVICES Throughout the entire term of the contract, the contractor shall be responsible for: • making sufficient flat linen available in accordance with the needs of the residential care centre; • collecting the soiled linen; • cleaning, maintaining and, where necessary, repairing or replacing the linen; • quality control of the linen; • packaging and delivering clean, ready-to-use linen. The soiled linen shall be collected and the clean linen delivered at least two (2) times per week according to a schedule established by mutual agreement with the contracting authority. The tenderer shall state the proposed collection and delivery days and times in the tender form. For more information regarding the services, see Part III of these specifications. TERM The contract has an initial term of 1 year and may be extended to a maximum total of 4 years (see point II.2 below).
