Opportunity description
The subject of this public procurement is: “Reconstruction of the footpath network along road II-37 Dzhurovo - Etropole - Zlatitsa, in the section from the Etropole town entrance sign to the Etropole town exit sign”, under intervention II.G.6 - Investments in basic services and small-scale infrastructure in rural areas” of the Strategic Plan for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas of the Republic of Bulgaria for the period 2023-2027”, in two lots, as follows: Lot No. 1: Reconstruction of the footpath network along road II-37 Dzhurovo - Etropole - Zlatitsa, in the section from the Etropole town entrance sign to the Etropole town exit sign - section from km 16+116 to km 18+252; Lot No. 2: Reconstruction of the footpath network along road II-37 Dzhurovo - Etropole - Zlatitsa, in the section from the Etropole town entrance sign to the Etropole town exit sign - section from km 18+252 to km 20+934. Road II-37 in the section from the Etropole town entrance sign to the Etropole town exit sign coincides with the town’s main street. The section begins at the Etropole town entrance sign at km 16+116 of national road II-37 and ends at an intersection at km 18+252, and is approximately 2 136m long. The footpaths within the scope of the project are in poor operational condition, with numerous subsidence areas, different types of surfacing and places where surfacing is missing. The width of the footpaths in this section is from 2,00 to 4,00m on the left and right. Due to impaired drainage, surface water remains on the footpaths, which leads to further deterioration of the road surface. In plan, the footpaths are designed with variable width between the kerbs from the roadway repair project and the property-regulation lines. For the purpose of greater safety, unifying the architectural and landscape appearance of the town and preserving the existing plant species along the footpaths, the project provides for the construction of green areas 75cm wide between the carriageway and the new footpath. In the sections where there are entrances to the buildings, the green areas are interrupted. The vertical alignment is designed with straight lines and cubic parabolas. The design elements for the entire section comply with the standards for a design speed Vпр.=50km/h. The vertical alignment solution is consistent with the existing investment project for repair of the roadway. The road section is designed with cross slopes as follows: - On a straight section, a one-way 3% slope toward the carriageway; - On a curve, a one-way 3% slope toward the carriageway. In view of the condition of the surfacing and the anticipated load, the following footpath structure has been selected: - Concrete paving blocks with a thickness of 6cm - Sand bedding with a thickness of 5cm - Crushed stone fraction 0-63 with a thickness of 20cm Total structure thickness h0=31cm. Drainage will be carried out at the surface by directing water from the footpaths toward the carriageway by means of the transverse and longitudinal slopes. Road II-37 in the section from the Etropole town entrance sign to the Etropole town exit sign coincides with the town’s main street. The section subject to the present design begins at an intersection at km 18+252 of national road II-37 and ends at the Etropole town exit sign at km 20+934, and is approximately 2 682m long.
