Opportunity description

Replacement of a failed 10 kV oil-filled cable with a new electrical cable of type САХЕкТ or equivalent, 10 kV, 1х185 mm2, between the ‘Geology’ Transformer Substation and the ‘Heating Plant’ Transformer Substation of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, IV km, Sofia. The existing 3х185mm2 oil-filled cable is laid in a trench, is severely worn, has numerous joints along the route, and has compromised insulation. Its further operation is economically unprofitable and places the power supply of several institutes in Scientific Complex-1 of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in a critical situation. It is planned to replace the compromised cable with a new cable of type САХЕкТ or equivalent. The total length of the route is 400 m. The new cables start from the switchgear of the ‘Geology’ Transformer Substation and run to the switchgear of the ‘Heating Plant’ Transformer Substation, passing through existing pipes beneath ‘Akademik Georgi Bonchev’ St. and laid freely in a trench with a sand bed along the remainder of the route.
