Opportunity description
The system of the Executive Environment Agency, within the Radiation Measurement Laboratory Department and the regional units RL-Burgas, RL-Varna, RL-Vratsa, RL-Montana, RL-Pleven and RL-Stara Zagora under the Laboratory and Analytical Activities General Directorate, has nine stationary stations for sampling ambient air on aerosol filters for testing radiological parameters, and four portable sampling devices have been allocated to the RL-Varna, RL-Vratsa, RL-Plovdiv and RL-Stara Zagora departments. The stationary systems and portable devices for collecting aerosol samples are intended to ensure the regular implementation of the ambient air radiological monitoring program, pursuant to Order No. RD-627/12.07.2024 of the Minister of Environment and Water, and in the event of possible radioactive contamination. The systems and portable devices are distributed so as to cover the territory of the entire country in the event of contamination being transported through ambient air, including in areas where former uranium-mining sites are concentrated. The sampling systems are intended to ensure continuous monitoring of the radiological parameters of ambient air. Seven of the sampling devices were commissioned during the period 1994 ÷ 2011, and therefore their service life has now been exhausted, given their continuous operating mode and the repeated repair work required for the sampling devices. The systems are largely fully depreciated and technically and technologically obsolete. Replacing defective electronic components of the equipment is extremely difficult because they are technically obsolete and are not available on the market, and keeping them in technically sound condition is effectively impossible. In view of the above, there is a need to replace the sampling devices for collecting aerosol samples in the stationary systems and portable devices. Procedure: open. Estimated value: 563,950 BGN.
