The subject of this public procurement procedure is “Selection of a contractor for the construction of 2 /two/ sites for which funding is being applied for under the Regional Development Programme 2021–2027, divided into lots: - Lot I - Major repair of road II-11 “Border of OPU-Vidin – Lom – Border of OPU-Vratsa” from km 23+167 to km 46+781.19 (=km 46+880 according to the assignment), with a length of 23.614 km, within the territory of Lom Municipality, Montana Region”; - Lot II - Major repair of road II-11 “Border of OPU-Vidin – Lom – Border of OPU-Vratsa” from km 49+691 to km 78+884.24 (=km 78+820 according to the assignment), with a length of 29,193 km, within the territory of the municipalities of Lom and Valchedram, Montana Region”. In this regard, the objective of the public procurement procedure is to select contractors for the construction of each of the lots and to conclude contracts for their execution, with a view to improving the technical and operational characteristics of the road sections and achieving uniformity of the road pavements, which will ensure optimal travel speed and safe traffic conditions on the road sections, a reduction in the number of road traffic accidents (RTAs) and travel time. Pursuant to Art. 137, para. 1, item 1, letter “a” of the Spatial Development Act, the construction is first category. Pursuant to Art. 5, para. 1, item 2 of the Rules on the Procedure for Registration and Maintenance of the Central Professional Register of Builders, issued by the Bulgarian Construction Chamber, the construction is in the second group: transport infrastructure construction works.
