Performance of a complete technical, geophysical, hydrogeological and analytical survey of five existing borehole wells for the purpose of assessing their current condition, structural integrity, water productivity and hydrogeological characteristics, as well as preparing the documentation necessary for their restoration and commissioning, including preparation for the issuance of water abstraction permits, in accordance with the requirements of the Water Act and Ordinance No. 1 of 10.10.2007. Activities under the contract that the Contractor will perform: Preparation of the documents necessary for the issuance by the Black Sea Basin Directorate – Varna of a Permit for groundwater abstraction through new water abstraction facilities, including: Justification for water abstraction from the water source – pursuant to the Water Act and Ordinance No. 1 of 10.10.2007 on the exploration, use and protection of groundwater; Design for a sanitary protection zone around the water sources – pursuant to the Water Act and Ordinance No. 3 of 16.10.2000 on the conditions and procedure for the exploration, design and operation of sanitary protection zones. Opening the boreholes and surveying them by video recording the shaft to its full depth in order to determine: the overall condition of the production casing; the condition of the open hole (if any); the integrity and connection of the individual pipe sections; the presence of cracks, gaps and leaks from overlying aquifers; the condition and location of filters, as well as the quality of the annular cementing; the presence of fallen objects; observation of fracture systems, karst formations and other geological structures; the presence and position of quicksand; determination of the water level; the effective depth of the facility. Geophysical survey of the shafts for: establishing the borehole structure; measuring the shaft diameter; locating water inflow zones. Experimental filtration studies (experimental pumping tests) to determine: the hydraulic efficiency of the water sources; the hydrogeological parameters of the aquifer. Preparation of complete technical documentation for the issuance of a water abstraction permit, including: Characteristics of the relevant part of the water body; Determination of the water abstraction parameters; Hydrogeological parameters; Geodetic survey. Water testing: full chemical analysis with microcomponents; microbiological analysis; radiological analysis. All samples must be collected through accredited sampling and analyzed in an accredited laboratory. Preparation of a hydrogeological study of the borehole well, accompanied by: data on the borehole structure; results of the hydrogeological tests; reports from the laboratory water tests. Preparation of a report on the construction and installation work required to restore the facilities, including: a summary of the current condition of the boreholes; proposals, with technical justification, for repairing the chambers above the boreholes; recommendations for commissioning. The water from the wells is intended to be used as a backup drinking and domestic water supply for the city of Shumen. At present, borehole wells R-1, R-1A, R-2, R-4, R-7 and R-8 are not in operation, and only R-5 is operational and supplies the reservoir of the Matnitsa district. According to data from the water supply and sewerage company, wells R-1, R-1A, R-2, R-4, R-7 and R-8 of the “Matnitsa” water supply system are not in operation. There is no power supply or equipment, and the rising mains are compromised. SCOPE OF THE SURVEY The following shall be performed: Opening the boreholes and surveying them by video recording the borehole shaft to its full depth, in order to determine: the overall condition of the production casing; the condition of the open hole (if any); the connection and integrity of the individual pipes; the presence of gaps, failures, cracks and leaks from overlying aquifers; the condition and intervals of the filters, and the presence and quality of the annular cementing; the results of recording the condition of the shaft to its full depth with a borehole camera; the water level; the presence of fallen objects; observation of fracture systems in the bedrock; the size and position of karst formations and other geological structures; the presence and position of quicksand (if any); the total effective depth of the facility. Geophysical survey of the borehole shafts to identify the structure, determine the diameter and inspect water inflow (water flow) zones. Experimental filtration studies (experimental pumping tests) for the purpose of establishing the parameters of the aquifer and the hydraulic efficiency of the water sources. Characteristics of the relevant part of the water body. Determination of the water abstraction parameters. Determination of the hydrogeological parameters. Geodetic survey. Water testing – full chemical analysis including microcomponents, microbiological and radiological analysis, performed through accredited sampling in an accredited laboratory. Preparation of a hydrogeological study of a borehole well and compilation of a Hydrogeological Report, accompanied by annexes concerning: the borehole structure; the results of the hydrogeological tests; the reports from the laboratory testing of the water samples. Preparation of a report on the construction and installation work required to restore the facilities, including: proposals, with justification, for repairing the chambers above the boreholes; a summary of the current condition of the boreholes; recommendations for subsequent actions to commission the water extraction facilities (boreholes). The following shall be performed: Opening the boreholes and surveying them by video recording the borehole shaft to its full depth, in order to determine: The overall condition of the production casing; The condition of the open hole (if any); The connection and integrity of the individual pipes; The presence of gaps, failures, cracks and leaks from overlying aquifers; The condition and intervals of the filters, and the presence and quality of the annular cementing; Results of recording the shaft of the facility to its full depth with a borehole camera; The groundwater level; The presence of fallen objects in the well; Observation of fracture systems in the bedrock; Dimensions and position of karst formations and other geological structures; Position of quicksand (if any); The total effective depth of the facility.
