Opportunity description
Clinical Pathology, Vejle Hospital wishes to purchase a laser microdissection system for the precise isolation of selected cell populations, tissue areas, and pathological structures from clinical tissue samples. The system must support the department's activities within molecular pathology, where there is a need to link the histological assessment of tissue morphology with subsequent molecular analyses. In molecular pathology diagnostics, FFPE samples are often analyzed, where the amount of available tumor material may be limited, or where the tumor fraction is low due to a high proportion of normal tissue. This may affect the sensitivity and quality of subsequent molecular analyses, including sequencing-based analyses. Laser microdissection therefore enables precise selection and enrichment of tumor-containing areas or specific cell populations identified on the basis of the histological assessment. This can increase the proportion of relevant tumor DNA/RNA, which may improve the conditions for reliable molecular characterization. The system will be particularly relevant in connection with the analysis of small biopsies, heterogeneous tumor samples, samples with a low tumor percentage, as well as situations where specific morphological areas are to be examined separately. In addition, the technology will support research and routine pathology activities where the relationship between tissue morphology and molecular changes is central. It is essential for Clinical Pathology that the system can be integrated into the department's existing laboratory workflows and support requirements for sample quality, traceability, and reproducibility. As the system is to be used in a clinical molecular pathology environment, it is a requirement that the technology be robust, well documented, and compatible with established molecular analysis methods. Procedure: neg-wo-call. Review the original TED notice for the complete requirement, lots, amendments and attachments.
