Opportunity description

The operation concerns the performance of preventive archaeological excavations on the northern part of the future Carresse-Cassaber interchange on the A64. The excavations were prescribed by order of the Regional Prefect No. 75-2023-1336 dated 21 November 2023. Periods concerned: Metal Ages and Antiquity. Area of approximately 16,000 m2. The services, on agricultural land and in a protected natural area, concern, for indicative purposes, the following fields: - Earthworks and stripping down to the base of the archaeological sequence over an area of approximately 16,000 m²; - The excavation, recording and study of all structures (depending on the type and state of preservation of the structures, the options described in 5.1.1 Subject matter - Options below may be activated in parallel) over an area of approximately 16,000 m² (Metal Ages and Antiquity periods); - Restoration and backfilling upon completion of the excavation; - Analysis of the results and drafting of the final report.
