An X-ray diffraction system (GIXRD-RS) coupled with electrochemistry as well as Raman and mass spectrometry is being procured for the ACTIVE SITES research building. The system is based on a powder diffractometer with two radiation sources (Cu and Mo X-ray tubes), a 2D detector, and versatile in-situ cells, and can be operated in transmission and reflection modes. It is used to investigate structural changes in solids, particularly near-surface changes, under real process conditions. By coupling it with complementary methods such as Raman spectroscopy and downstream analytics (e.g. GC, MS), an operando system is realized that enables the analysis of catalytic reactions and electrochemical processes as well as the determination of reaction kinetics. X-ray diffraction system (GIXRD-RS) with the following minimum requirements (please refer to the performance specification): - transmission measurement station with integrated 2D detector for the simultaneous, time-resolved acquisition of an angular range of at least 45° without scanning movement, - integrated XRD-Raman coupling for the simultaneous analysis of the same sample, - heatable, flow-through capillary reaction cell for investigations under realistic reaction conditions (temperature range approx. 25-350 °C, gas and/or liquid flow), - complete integration of all components into a unified overall system to ensure synchronous measurements and system compatibility.
