Renovation of the Olympic tent roof, corrosion protection work Implementation of corrosion protection measures for the renovation of the Olympic tent roof in the Olympiapark Munich (Bavaria, Germany). The Olympic tent roof extends over a total area of approx. 78,000 m² and spans the Olympic Stadium, intermediate roofs, the Olympic Hall and the Olympic Swimming Hall. The aim of the planned corrosion protection measures is to gently remedy corrosion damage that has already occurred, ensure the permanent protection of the affected areas and renew the corrosion protection of the remaining components. The measures include renewing the corrosion protection on the following components: Cables (fully locked coil cables and strand bundles), mast heads and base points of the masts, lower fork heads of the aerial supports, nodes of the tent roof structure, sealing of the cable inlets with plastic bellows (on-site production). Specifically, the work includes: Removal of existing coatings (some contaminated with hazardous substances) by sandblasting (in some cases sweep blasting), repair of damaged areas on the supporting structure, injection of red lead-containing modifications in areas of the cable deflections, recoating of the surfaces, bird deterrent measures.
