MEP planning for the Digital Hardware Hub Aachen Lot 3: HVAC and plumbing Lot 4: Electrical engineering The mission of the nonprofit AMO GmbH, Gesellschaft für Angewandte Mikro- und Optoelektronik mbH, is to promote science and research. The planning and implementation of research and development projects are undertaken in close cooperation with public funding bodies and contracting authorities, other research institutions, and commercial enterprises. The responsibilities of AMO GmbH include publishing scientific findings obtained, as well as educating and providing continuing professional development for scientific specialists. In its activities, AMO works with an application-oriented approach and a focus on knowledge transfer, with constantly evolving societal challenges providing the frame of reference. It researches sustainable technological potential for developing new solutions for microelectronics, semiconductor technology, and nanotechnology. Research services are carried out predominantly on a project basis, with financing provided largely through acquired (public) project funding from the state, the federal government, or the EU. In addition, contract research is conducted jointly with research institutions and companies and addresses innovative applications in the fields of microelectronics and semiconductor technology. As a provider of nanofabrication research services, AMO is a pathfinder for specific requirements and supports its customers on the journey from prototype to production.
