The City of Gronau intends to develop its land located to the south along Enscheder Straße on the border with the neighboring Netherlands - adjacent to the urban area of Glanerbrug and Enschede. While on the Dutch side the urbanized areas extend as far as the border, an open landscape corridor is located within the territory of the City of Gronau. Following the new construction of the B 54 farther south, Enscheder Straße is now no longer the main connection between Gronau and Enschede. As a result, the City of Glanerbrug has already reorganized the street space. In order to find an appropriate solution, a competition with 15 participants in accordance with RPW 2013, followed by a negotiated procedure (pursuant to § 14 para. 4 item 8 VgV), was envisaged.
