Opportunity description

The construction project addressed in this procedure is the: “New construction of a cafeteria at Mittwaldschule primary school, Isenstedter Str. 75, 32339 Espelkamp” The following scope of services according to HOAI 2021 forms part of it: “Technical Equipment” pursuant to Sections 53–55 in service phases 1–9, for system groups 1–5, 7 & 8, in conjunction with Annex 15 HOAI. The existing building (reinforced-concrete frame construction) was built in the early 1970s with a colored exposed-concrete curtain façade made of precast concrete elements with profiled facing concrete and was used as a secondary school. In 2013, it was redesignated as the present-day “Mitwaldschule primary school.” The overall complex consists of two three-story main buildings with a south/north orientation and a single-story building section with an east/west orientation. A single-story extension, built in late 1970, adjoins it to the south. Together, the buildings have approximately 16,100 m³ of enclosed space. The total built-up area is approximately 2,500 m². The current three-form-entry primary school, with its affiliated open all-day program, is reaching the limits of its available space due to high demand. Particularly in the cafeteria area, where meals for pupils are organized in two shifts, additional space is required, which the planned extension is intended to address. A feasibility study has shown that the cafeteria can be expanded at ground level toward Isenstedter Straße by approximately 300 m² of usable floor area. The current cafeteria area will subsequently be converted into part of the open all-day school (OGS) and support rooms (school social work, IT and medical rooms).
