A comprehensive modernization of Kaiserslautern Central Station's station building is planned to safeguard the building fabric over the long term and improve the quality of use. Due to numerous structural and technical deficiencies, the façade, load-bearing structure, roof surfaces and interior areas in particular will be repaired, and moisture and corrosion damage will be remedied. In addition, the project includes the modernization of the technical building equipment, the energy optimization of the building, the replacement of windows, doors and lighting, as well as measures to improve accessibility and the quality of the space.
