Opportunity description

The Frankfurt South and Deutschherrn Bridge Corridor (DHBZ) project is a central building block for increasing capacity and quality at the Frankfurt rail node. It comprises the replacement construction of a double-track bridge over the Main east of the heritage-listed Deutschherrn Bridge, as well as the adaptation of the adjacent engineering structures (EÜ Eyssenstraße, EÜ Mayfarthstraße, EÜ Hanauer Landstraße) and route 3660 between Frankfurt (Main) South and Frankfurt (Main) East. In addition, a bypass track (route 3659) south of the Main will be integrated without any level crossings. The new structure will be built alongside the existing one in order to largely maintain operations; the existing bridge will be preserved as a listed monument. The measure is embedded in FRMplus and corresponds with the Frankfurt Node and North Main S-Bahn projects. Based on a noise assessment (sections 7 and 8, D-Takt 2030), evidence of a substantial alteration pursuant to the 16th BImSchV has been provided for the area from EÜ Darmstädter Landstraße to Frankfurt (Main) East station. Preferred variants for active noise protection measures were derived from this. Under this contract, solutions for the design and acceptance of the noise barriers (SSW) in the Frankfurt South and DHBZ project area will be developed, visualized, coordinated with the stakeholders, and documented.
