On 27 July 2026, an emergency involving substantial water ingress was identified at BTU's IKMZ. As a result of the water saturation, extensive holdings of the University Library had to be secured at short notice. The resulting requirement included, in particular, recovery, packaging, transport, freezing, and the further professional treatment of the damaged holdings. Initial treatment, freezing, freeze-drying of 404 linear metres of water-damaged books (14,140 kg). Procedure: neg-wo-call.
