The District of Gießen is planning a replacement new building for all-day care on the grounds of the Burgschule Primary School at Burgstraße 5, 35440 Linden, cadastral district 1, parcel 83/6. The city of Linden, with a population of approximately 13,500, is located in the eastern part of the District of Gießen. Burgschule is, on average, a three-form-entry primary school with currently 310 pupils. At present, approximately 150 children attend all-day care, with an upward trend. The planned two-story new building will be constructed as a compact structure in the northwestern area of the school property. The main entrance of the new building faces north and is oriented toward the existing school building. Deliveries to the kitchen will be made directly via Burgstraße. This ensures separate access to the various functional areas. The kitchen's supply and waste disposal will therefore take place independently of school operations. The replacement new building for Burgschule Linden is to be classified as a school (HBO §2 para. 9 no. 12, special-purpose building) and building class 3. It will be constructed as a 2-story hybrid building (reinforced-concrete frame and floors with timber exterior walls, to Passive House standard). As part of this trade, the following are to be constructed: - 720 m2 timber-frame walls with mineral wool insulation - 720 m2 timber batten cladding with substructure - 100m2 mullion-transom façade - 100m2 wood-aluminum windows and doors - 100m2 aluminum louvered external venetian blinds.
