Opportunity description
Conversion and expansion of the Westpfalz-Klinikum at the Kirchheimbolanden site The Westpfalz-Klinikum is located on the western outskirts of Kirchheimbolanden and consists of several building sections dating from different periods. The oldest part of the complex is Ward Block 5 and the treatment building connected to the north (outpatient clinics + operating theatres), dating from the mid-1950s. In the 1990s, extensions followed to the operating theatre department, the entrance area with cafeteria/staff catering facilities, and the intensive care department. From 2000 onward, extensions were built onto the delivery suite, followed by the outpatient surgery centre and the new chief physician area in 2011. The final component constructed was the 4-storey MVZ, directly connected to the emergency department. Residential areas are located to the south, east and north; to the west, there are no buildings in the immediate vicinity, but rather green meadows and fields that lead uphill to wooded areas. As part of the planned measure, the hospital will receive a new building on the eastern side of the hospital complex, as well as an additional storey on a north-eastern section of the building.
