Opportunity description

The Zeller Land Adventure Pool was built approximately 45 years ago as a purely sports pool adjacent to the existing outdoor pool. In 1993, the indoor pool was expanded and the outdoor pool area was closed except for the children’s paddling pool. Some areas of the pool are still original from 1974 and are therefore in a corresponding condition. Even the newer components from the 1990s already exhibit considerable defects and signs of wear in the building structure and technical installations. This prompted the Zell an der Mosel collective municipality, as the operator of the pool, to commission a refurbishment study in 2019. The result of the study was that the entire roof structure, the existing post-and-beam façade, and all of the technical systems have reached the end of their service life, and that refurbishing these areas would be uneconomical. For this reason, the client decided to demolish the indoor pool together with the adjacent service buildings (catering facilities, residential building, etc.) and replace them with a new replacement building. Only the basement with the swimming pool (built in 1974) and part of the service buildings will remain. Environmental conditions: The Zeller Land Adventure Pool is located on the outskirts of Zell-Kaimt—surrounded by sports facilities and vineyards in the immediate vicinity of the Moselle.
