Germany – Construction work for swimming pool – GalaxSea Jena Leisure Pool - Energy-Efficient Renovation - Lot 10: Curtain Wall and External Thermal Insulation Composite System (ETICS)

Jenaer Bäder u. Freizeit GmbH intends to comprehensively modernize and, in particular, improve the energy efficiency of the GalaxSea leisure pool at Rudolstädter Straße 37, 07745 Jena. As part of the energy-efficient renovation, the uninsulated slides are to be replaced by a new facility, the outdoor pool is to be remodeled and enclosed, and the former sports pool is to be climatically separated from the children’s and adventure area. The water areas are also to be reduced, the different water circuits separated from one another, and the indoor and outdoor saunas modernized. Barrier-free accessibility to the leisure pool is to be ensured by two elevators. The wellness area on the upper floor is to be converted into a staff area with changing rooms, showers, a lounge, and office workstations. The new staff area is to comply with current workplace requirements and provide employees with modern working conditions. The former swimming and teaching pool is being redesigned as a diving/scuba pool and as the new children’s area with a spray park and dry playground. The former children’s paddling pool is to be remodeled with a smaller water surface and different water depths. The building services are to be renewed, expanded, and adapted to the pool’s changed needs. For the GalaxSea Jena leisure pool construction project, Energy-Efficient Renovation, façade work is to be carried out as a rear-ventilated suspended metal façade (angle standing seam) and as an external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS). The services include construction of the complete façade structure, including substructure, insulation, cladding, and all connection details. Key quantities: • Curtain wall (angle standing seam): approx. 239.5 m² • Mineral wool thermal insulation (200 mm): approx. 239.5 m² • Total ETICS façade: approx. 108 m² • EPS plinth insulation: approx. 43.5 m² • Mineral wool façade insulation: approx. 64.5 m² The work is to be carried out taking into account the special requirements of construction in an existing building, particularly confined space conditions and phased construction. The façade work is to be completed in full operational condition, carried out in sections in accordance with the construction schedule, and finished including all ancillary services, connection work, and required protective measures.
