Drywall work, Building E – Conversion and renovation of Heinrich-Pattberg Realschule The Heinrich-Pattberg Realschule in Moers is the only Realschule in Moers and is a 3.5-stream compulsory all-day school. There are seven separate buildings of different years of construction on the school grounds. The two oldest buildings were constructed in the early twentieth century for the former mining school as brick buildings with gable roofs. This "old building" has three floors and a full basement; it contains classrooms, the administration, and various storage and utility rooms. In the early 1990s, two new classroom buildings (Buildings I+II) were added (1 classroom wing, 1 science wing), which are connected to the "old building" by a T-shaped connecting corridor at the level of the 1st upper floor. Furthermore, there is a new multi-purpose sports hall with a forum, an open break hall (former bicycle parking area), and a 2-story pavilion with additional classrooms on the grounds. The large multi-purpose sports hall was newly constructed in 2003 and is not to be altered. The classroom pavilion and the break hall are to be dismantled as part of the overall project. Based on a needs analysis with a spatial concept, it is intended to construct a new cafeteria with a forum and administration facilities and to renovate and convert the existing school buildings.
