Opportunity description
Demolition, structural and finishing works - public area M7 To expand passenger handling capacity, Terminal 3 was constructed and put into operation at Frankfurt Main Airport, in addition to the existing buildings in the north, Terminals 1 and 2, on the site of the former US Airbase (now CargoCity South). The background is the planned relocation of a growing airline to Terminal 3 for the anticipated 2027 summer flight schedule SFP 2027, resulting in additional baggage volume in Terminal 3. This requirement entails construction measures such as demolition, conversion and new construction works in the baggage handling systems of Buildings 601 and 602 in the main terminal building. Measure M7: Fit-out of the two reserved baggage reclaim carousels in Building 600, Level E01 (arrival baggage reclaim hall), as well as fit-out of the two reserved induction points in the building for arrival baggage and construction of the two transport lines for arrival baggage (E01-EU1 connecting routes between the arrival baggage induction points in Building 601, Level E01, and the baggage reclaim carousels in Building 600, Level E01). To implement the measure, it is necessary in advance to create 5 ceiling openings (3 in Building 600 and 2 in Building 601) through structural modifications. This primarily results in the following construction measures: • Demolition and disposal of various types of floor coverings, particularly natural stone incl. expansion joint profiles, heated screed and foam glass, approx. 1,600 sqm • Creation of openings in reinforced concrete ceilings, approx. 5 units • Closing of reinforced concrete ceilings, including existing openings, approx. 10 units • Draining of underfloor heating, expected approx. 2 units • Minor finishing works (restoration in peripheral areas: floor coverings, screed, painting) Measure M10: Measure M10 comprises the implementation of the fourth transfer baggage induction point incl. an additional X-ray screening device. This primarily results in the following construction measures: • temporary fall-protection measures • dismantling of 1 unit of impact protection • floor-marking works around the transfer baggage reclaim area Start of services: April 2027 (dispatch of contract award letter) Start of installation/execution: Q3 2027 End of services (incl. subsequent remaining services and acceptance): Q2 2028 Procedure: neg-w-call.
