As part of its responsibility for nature and species conservation, Leipzig Zoo is a partner in the LIFE4HamsterSaxony project, which is co-financed by the European Union. The main focus of the project is to establish a stable European hamster population in the northwestern Saxony project area by testing and gradually implementing European hamster-friendly agricultural measures, as well as breeding and releasing European hamsters into the wild through Leipzig Zoo. Wildlife cameras are required both for scientific monitoring and for evaluating success. Scope of supply: A total of 250 camera trap sets are required to carry out this task over the 6-year project duration (project end: 31.12.2031). In addition, a long-term online data transfer system to a mobile device must be available.
