Opportunity description

The Berliner Platz underground station is located in Essen city center directly adjacent to the Limbecker Platz shopping center and, alongside Essen Central Station, is one of the most important public transport hubs. The Berliner Platz underground station is divided into a distribution level (level -1) and two transport levels: level -2 for the underground/light rail lines and level -3 for the tram lines. In addition to the retail units, many Ruhrbahn operational rooms are located on the distribution level. Level 2 at Berliner Platz is being upgraded in terms of fire protection. In the course of this, the platform will be shortened and new technical rooms will be retrofitted. As a result, 1 stairway to level -2 will be eliminated and escalators 16 & 17 will be dismantled without replacement. Procedure: open.
