On the premises at Erich-SchIesinger-Str. 24, Fire and Rescue Station 1, built in 1983, is being renovated and expanded. The construction project is divided into four construction phases, with the work in construction phases 0 and 1 largely completed. In the further course of construction, construction phases 2 (rescue service) and 3 (volunteer fire brigade and civil protection) are now to begin. The two building sections, construction phase 2 and construction phase 3, each consist of separate single-story vehicle halls and adjoining two-story functional buildings housing the sanitary, social, lounge and office rooms. The construction phase 3 building has a 3rd floor in the northeast of the building, which accommodates the training and fitness rooms together with ancillary rooms and the ventilation control center.
