Opportunity description

The State of Saxony-Anhalt would like to modernize the Inter-Company Training Center (hereinafter "ÜBS") for LLG Iden (State Institute for Agriculture and Horticulture Saxony-Anhalt) in order to establish a recognized inter-company training center with an impact beyond the borders of the State of Saxony-Anhalt and serving as a model for the entire agricultural sector. The dairy cattle and cattle husbandry area is to be newly constructed, thereby laying the foundation for modern and future-oriented dairy cattle husbandry. The centerpiece of the barn facility is the technological process of milk extraction and the milking technology incorporated into it. Both automatic and conventional milking are taught here. Other areas cover animal treatment, animal assessment, hoof care, handling special needs cows, and feeding in theory and practice. The maximum group size for the training courses is 12 trainees and 1 to 2 instructors. The technical systems are to be animal-friendly, durable, and service-friendly. Occupational safety plays a major role in practical training as a model. Low-emission barn floors in accordance with the state of the art are planned as an environmental and climate protection measure. Questions relating to animal husbandry and animal breeding are investigated at the Center for Animal Husbandry and Technology of the State Institute for Agriculture and Horticulture Saxony-Anhalt (LLG) in Iden. This includes, for example, animal- and environmentally appropriate husbandry methods as well as health- and performance-promoting, environmentally friendly feeding. The LLG includes the Inter-Company Training Center and the Agricultural Enterprise. The enterprise keeps around 400 dairy cows, as well as 120 suckler cows, 90 sows, 900 fattening pigs, and 300 ewes. The Iden Agricultural Enterprise is not only a production facility but also a location for inter-company training for farmers/ animal keepers from the federal states of Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and Saxony-Anhalt, as well as a base for conducting extensive practice-oriented trials. Advanced and continuing education events in the field of dairy cattle husbandry/management are organized and conducted for farmers, animal keepers, employees of agricultural enterprises, consultants, and students.
