Opportunity description

The Waterways New Construction Office for the Kiel Canal is planning the construction of a long-term storage facility for dredged material, soil material and other mineral materials from the Kiel Canal as well as from the expansion projects on the Kiel Canal, with a maximum storage period of 3 years for each material delivered, at Lake Flemhude on a total area of around 75 ha. The aim of the long-term storage facility at the Flemhude site is to establish a central operation for the treatment, recovery and temporary storage of the aforementioned materials and to ensure its long-term operation close to the canal. For the construction of a long-term storage facility, interventions in nature and the landscape (§§ 14-17 BNatSchG) must be compensated for or replaced. The intervention area of the Flemhude LZL was mapped in the years 23/24 and the compensation requirement was determined using the “Guidance framework for inventory recording, assessment and determination of compensation measures in the context of landscape conservation support planning for road construction projects”. . The required ecological points in the geest are divided into3 different specialist lots. The following presentation shows the total requirement for ecological points in the geest by biotope type and number of ecological points: Inland waters (FS) -11.572 (Ecological points Geest Lot1) Reed beds (NR) -139.270 (Ecological points Geest Lot2) Dry and nutrient-poor grasslands (TR) -606 (Ecological points Geest Lot3) . The requirement tendered here is for ecological points for reed beds (NR)in the geest in the amount of 139.270 ecological points. . The expression of interest procedure is not a formal procurement procedure or the award of a public contract. This procedure does not give rise to any legal commitment. . No remuneration will be granted for participation in the expression of interest procedure. The costs incurred by interested parties through processing will not be reimbursed. Expenses will also not be reimbursed. . Following this inquiry, a procurement procedure for the acquisition of the ecological points will be conducted with the interested companies.
