Supply services for cardiac surgery (HCH) UMG (Greifswald/Karlsburg) intends to procure four (4) heart-lung machines (HLM) and two (2) Heater-Cooler-Units (HCU), including delivery, installation, commissioning, instruction of user personnel, integration into clinical operations, and the service and maintenance services required to maintain safe and economical operation. The procurement serves to ensure the long-term provision of cardiac surgical care within a highly specialized clinical service area. The systems are used during complex cardiac surgical procedures and constitute safety-relevant medical devices within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (MDR). As the contracting authority, UMG is obliged to provide a permanently safe, economical, and functional medical infrastructure. In addition to the investment costs, particular consideration must be given to the requirements regarding patient safety, operational safety, interoperability, maintainability, spare parts supply, and life-cycle costs.
