Opportunity description
Project description: As part of the Zoo Future 2030+ master planning, a holistic energy and sustainability concept was developed for Frankfurt Zoo. It integrates the use of sustainable materials with the optimization of comfort for users and the minimization of energy consumption. Passive strategies are pursued intensively within it. It sets out a path showing how the zoo can become climate-neutral in the foreseeable future. The energy concept is attached to this invitation to tender. For the Serenget project—and therefore also for this scope of services—the holistic energy and sustainability concept from the master planning forms the basis. The particular requirement of this task lies in the energy and climate concept for the large-volume Serengeti hall with an extensively transparent façade, different climate zones, and requirements arising from and imposed by bodies of water, animals, plants, and people, which is intended to be naturally ventilated to the greatest possible extent. A project description is included in the procurement documents. The other required services were awarded in procurement procedures that have already been largely completed. Project period: The project is scheduled to start in mid-2026, and implementation is to be completed in 2033. Project costs: Based on the planning for the master plan at a scale of 1:200, a cost framework at the first level according to DIN 276 was determined for the project. Construction costs of €55.063 million net are assumed for cost groups KG 200-600. Of this, approximately €18.571 million net is attributable to KG 300 and approximately €20.448 million net to KG 400. A phased commissioning is planned. The individual service modules will be called off successively as the project progresses. Should the contracting authority decide that the project will be terminated after completion of a project stage, no further call-off will take place. The contractor has no entitlement to the call-off of further service modules. Energy quality assurance services are being awarded. Procedure: open.
