Opportunity description
The Ludwig-Uhland-Gymnasium consists of a total of 5 building sections as well as two sports halls. The school, dating from the years 1964 to 2010, has undergone various conversions, extensions and additions, as well as changes of use, resulting in a very heterogeneous structural condition. Building sections C and D largely date from the original year of construction, 1969; additional storey on building section C dating from 2007. The existing NWT areas for biology, physics and chemistry are neither up to date in terms of equipment nor structurally or technically, and some of their room layouts are too small. There are also major deficiencies in fire protection and escape and rescue routes. Building section D must be spatially reorganized; adaptation to the school construction funding guideline will take place in this context. Through this measure, practical, modern working methods and independent experimentation will gain greater importance in science teaching. The exposed-concrete façades and window elements (dating from the original construction period in 1969) are in urgent need of refurbishment; drafts have been detected. The building sections do not meet current structural thermal-insulation requirements. The roof waterproofing leaks in various places, and the roof insulation does not meet the requirements. The toilet rooms are accessible only from outside and have a considerable backlog of refurbishment work. The drinking-water network, the heating network incl. heating surfaces, and the electrical installation must be completely replaced. Building sections C + D must therefore undergo complete core refurbishment, including an energy-efficiency upgrade of the building envelope. Approximate quantities: • 2x brine-to-water heat pumps, each 81kW, • 2x heating-water buffer storage tanks, each 1,000l, • 1x hydraulic separator, • 1x passive cooling controller, • 1x diaphragm pressure expansion vessel with 900l, • 1x dirt and sludge separator, • underfloor heating (Type A multilayer composite material) approx. 2,150m² • impact-sound insulation layer (rigid PS foam) approx. 2,150m², • 48x radiant ceiling panels of various sizes, Procedure: open.
