Installation of ventilation systems The City of Fulda intends to expand Cuno-Raabe-Schule at the Gallasiniring site through a combination of a new building and the existing building. The construction project is divided into two main building sections: Building Section A (new building): Construction of a three-storey, angular school wing with a central atrium. The building houses administrative areas, specialist classrooms and modern learning clusters (classrooms, differentiation rooms and multifunctional rooms) on the upper floors. Building Section B (existing building/church): Integration of a former church into the school campus through a "house-within-a-house" concept. The three-storey insertion comprises a cafeteria, teaching kitchen, all-day areas and a media library. A particular highlight is the "play deck" on the 2nd upper floor beneath the church roof. The two building sections are connected by a connecting structure on the upper floor, which creates a covered break area on the ground floor and emphasizes the central campus character. Trade description – ventilation: The installation of a modern mechanical supply and extract ventilation system is planned for the Cuno-Raabe-Schule school campus. Ventilation concept in the new building (Building Section A): Two central air-handling units (L01 - main areas and L02 - WC area) will be installed in the basement of the new building and supplied with outside air via a shared weather-protection grille on the 1st upper floor. The units condition the air through filtration, highly efficient heat recovery (rotary or plate heat exchangers) and reheating; unit L01 also has a changeover coil for cooling. The exhaust air from both systems is collected and discharged outdoors via a roof hood. The main areas are supplied according to demand via variable volume flow controllers. Secondary areas are regulated via constant volume flow controllers. Ceiling swirl diffusers, combined air diffusers, an exposed duct system with exposed duct outlet grilles and disc valves are used for air distribution. Ventilation concept in the existing building (Building Section B) The former church is ventilated by a total of seven decentralized units. Three central units (L03-L05) in the basement supply the WC facilities, dining room and dishwashing kitchen via a shared intake shaft. The kitchen on the ground floor will receive a separate ceiling-mounted system, unit L06. In addition, three further decentralized units (L07-L09) will be installed directly beneath the ceiling in the respective usage zones for the all-day area, library and teaching kitchen. These units draw in outside air individually through the façade and discharge the exhaust air again by the same route. All units in Building Section B are equipped with heat recovery and corresponding heating or Changeober coils. Refrigeration technology Split air-conditioning systems are used to air-condition the technical rooms (IT, fire alarm control center, server). The associated outdoor units are installed in the area of the stairway entrances and connected to the indoor units via refrigerant lines. Procedure: open.
