Opportunity description
I. General description: The Trier-Land collective municipality is planning the construction of a central Fire Protection and Training Center in Newel in order to consolidate the supra-regional functions of the collective municipality fire brigade, utilize synergies and increase operational readiness. In the future, the building is intended to provide space not only for the secure accommodation of vehicles, but also for the storage and organization of a wide variety of equipment. In addition to the facilities mentioned, training and meeting rooms will be provided, not only for regular training and information on new technologies, regulations and deployment strategies, but also for the central initial and continuing training of the fire brigade personnel throughout the Trier-Land collective municipality. The training area will be completed by a training yard and a training wall specially designed for hands-on instruction and training. The fire brigade's workshop areas will be supplemented by additional office and workshop areas of the collective municipality (municipal works yard, forestry special-purpose association) in order to cover a broader range of inspection, maintenance and repair work. The ground floor and upper floor of the two-story building structure are planned as a solid reinforced-concrete construction with a high degree of prefabrication. The exterior walls consist of reinforced-concrete cavity walls, will be thermally insulated and will receive an aluminum curtain wall with unrestricted profile geometry. The vehicle hall is to be constructed as a conventional reinforced-concrete frame structure. The partition wall between the vehicle hall and the adjoining ancillary-room program is planned as a reinforced-concrete thermal wall. Inside, the reinforced-concrete cavity walls are primarily intended to remain exposed. The roof structure, in the form of a green roof with a PV system, rests on reinforced-concrete girders and consists of a load-bearing trapezoidal-sheet shell configured as a warm roof, with acoustic perforations on the underside.
