Broadband Economic Viability Gap Model Tender - Economic Viability Gap Model 2.0 An industry dialogue and a market consultation has / have shown that, for the sub-area of the local authority, no high-performance gigabit infrastructure offering corresponding telecommunications services is currently available throughout the area in accordance with the objectives of the Gigabit Framework Regulation 2.0 and will not be available in the coming years. The local authority therefore applied for and was granted funding for area-wide gigabit expansion - relating to the underserved sub-area under the economic viability gap model within the framework of the Directive "Funding to Support the Gigabit Expansion of Telecommunications Networks in the Federal Republic of Germany - Federal Gigabit Directive 2.0 (Gigabit-RL 2.0)" of 31 March 2023, as amended on 13.01.2025 ("Gigabit Directive 2.0"). The funding provided under this funding program in the economic viability gap model (hereinafter: funds) is to be passed on by local authorities to telecommunications companies within the meaning of EU State aid law as investment cost aid for the construction and operation of gigabit networks.
