The buildings are largely identical in their design and function and provide living space for different age groups. The aim is to create a harmonious ensemble that is convincing both functionally and in terms of design and offers a high quality of stay. Open-space design and recreation areas Generous recreation areas are being created between buildings A and B and between C and D, serving as communicative meeting points for residents. Bicycle shelters with high-low racks are centrally located in each of these areas to ensure a convenient and secure bicycle parking option. The recreation area between buildings A and B is additionally enhanced by an outdoor chessboard and seating, while the area between B and C will receive a seating island and table-seating combinations. To the west of building A, a meadow orchard with raised beds for urban gardening will be created to give residents the opportunity to engage in their own gardening activities. The western property boundary is enclosed by a free-growing hedge, which provides an Access and accessibility Access to the buildings is designed to be barrier-free and is provided via ramps. Waste shelters are located at the property boundaries near the street in each case to enable easy disposal. The southern property boundary is formed by a gabion wall serving as a retaining wall to compensate for the existing difference in elevation. A connection to the public path running to the south is provided via a stairway. Green spaces and ecological design The open spaces are designed with variety and include both ecologically valuable flowering meadows and recreational lawns for communal activities. All buildings are surrounded by species-rich perennial planting areas, which contribute to ecological enhancement and the creation of a pleasant microclimate. Terrace areas are supplemented by shrub plantings as privacy screening. In the built-over area, trees are planted with special tree mounds to enable sustainable greening despite the underground garage. Along Paul-Klee-Straße, parking areas with gravel lawn and additional tree plantings that provide shade are being created to the north. Additional parking spaces are located east of building B and are constructed with permeable paving and roadside greenery.
