Opportunity description

The City of Eisenach intends to expand the Ernst Abbe Gymnasium at Wartburgallee 60 by constructing a solid extension building. The new building will be constructed parallel to Grimmelgasse and will adjoin the existing sports hall on two sides. The building has the following main dimensions: Length: 55 m, width: 23 m, height: 14 m, number of floors: 3. The foundation will consist of bored piles supporting a reinforced concrete load-bearing grillage. The excavation pit will be secured with a soldier pile and lagging wall. The structure consists mainly of reinforced concrete; the floor and wall components will be constructed from cast-in-place concrete, as will the new lift shaft. Stair flights and landings will be made from precast or semi-precast reinforced concrete elements.
