The subject of this procurement is an integrated construction service comprising explosive ordnance investigation, explosive ordnance clearance, and area-wide volume clearance to adjust the harbour bed in the area of the South Breakwater on the island of Heligoland. The theoretical initial elevation of the harbour bed to be worked is NHN -8.53 m. According to the available multibeam echo-sounder data, the working areas are approximately 24,160 m2 for the area with a final elevation of NHN -9.30 m (berth) and approximately 4,400 m2 for the area with a final elevation of NHN -9.00 m (manoeuvring area). The loosened soil and rock material cleared of explosive ordnance is generally to remain in the water and be relocated within the designated areas in the outer harbour. Explosive ordnance, objects suspected of being explosive ordnance (scrap, large interfering objects), and other components requiring segregation will be recorded separately and treated accordingly as directed by the competent authorities. The procurement is necessary to establish the berthing and manoeuvring conditions at the South Breakwater required for the introduction of the multipurpose vessels, to ensure explosive ordnance safety in the intervention areas, and to prepare on schedule for the immediately subsequent works to upgrade the South Breakwater.
