Framework agreement for the comprehensive investigation of potential unexploded ordnance suspect points in marine areas of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (UXO survey) Proof that areas are free of unexploded ordnance is required for the extraction of marine sands in extraction areas. Unexploded ordnance surveys must therefore be carried out to identify and classify potential unexploded ordnance suspect points and to establish the basis for any subsequent measures involving further investigation, assessment or clearance. The investigations cover approximately 10 km²/year. The investigation areas are located in the coastal forefield of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania at water depths of approximately 8–19 m. The investigation is carried out using geophysical methods, particularly multibeam sonar, side-scan sonar and marine magnetics. The collected data must be processed, professionally evaluated and submitted as an annual investigation report together with the required datasets, interpretation lists and maps. Where necessary, archaeologically relevant anomalies, structures or suspect points must be identified, located and professionally assessed. Procedure: open.
