The Zweckverband Industrie- und Gewerbepark Raum Lahr acquires, plans, develops and sells properties within the association’s territory in order to develop attractive industrial and commercial areas and thereby ultimately strengthen economic momentum in the region. In this context, the City of Lahr/Schwarzwald and the Municipality of Friesenheim have now transferred responsibility for the public water supply within the association’s territory to the Zweckverband. This is intended in particular to achieve a uniform water price for the entire association territory, which is located both within the municipal boundaries of the City of Lahr/Schwarzwald and within those of the Municipality of Friesenheim. The water supply statutes valid from 1 January 2027 will be adopted at the association assembly in December 2026. Until now, the network within the association territory was operated by badenovaNETZE GmbH on the basis of a concession agreement with the City of Lahr/Schwarzwald. As part of the restructuring of the water supply, the Zweckverband is now acquiring the network from badenovaNETZE GmbH and operating it as a public facility. At the same time, management of the network is to continue to be carried out by an external service provider. badenovaNetze GmbH will remain the upstream supplier for the water supply. The Zweckverband is the downstream distributor within the Zweckverband’s network. The procurement procedure is intended to identify and commission a suitable and capable company that, as a service provider, will fully undertake and perform the commercial and technical operations management services for the public water supply.
