The City of Marl is planning the construction of a new three-form-entry primary school on Hervester Straße as a star-shaped, two-story school building, as well as a single-story sports building. Both buildings are planned as timber structures on reinforced concrete foundation slabs; the sports building will have a partial basement. The school building is designed in a cluster structure with classrooms, group rooms, specialist rooms, an administrative area, and a cafeteria/auditorium. The sports building houses a two-court sports hall, a teaching swimming pool, and ancillary rooms with changing and sanitary areas. For a heated bench along the swimming pool's glass façade, the contractor must manufacture and install the bench seat covering with a front downstand and rear upstand made of solid surface material (solid material), with a seamless appearance.
