Opportunity description
The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der angewandten Forschung e.V. holds a scientific exploration license for the exploration of geothermal energy (the “Aachen-Weisweiler” field) in the Aachen-Weisweiler area of North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany). As part of the “Fraunhofer Reallabor Tiefengeothermie Rheinland” project in the Rhenish mining district of the “Aachen-Weisweiler” region (North Rhine-Westphalia), the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Energy Infrastructures and Geotechnologies IEG (hereinafter referred to as Fh IEG, the contracting authority, or AG) is investigating the hydrothermal geothermal potential of the deeper subsurface. To this end, two deep boreholes with production tests and a seismic campaign in the licensed field are planned through 2028 inclusive. This invitation to tender is intended to procure casing pipes (casing) for lining the first exploratory borehole, “Weisweiler R1.” The drilling of the vertical Weisweiler R1 exploratory borehole, with a maximum depth of 4,000 m, is planned for Q1 2027. The casing pipes must be delivered to the specified delivery address no later than 31 January 2027. Further details can be found in the specifications. Procedure: open. Review the original TED notice for the complete requirement, lots, amendments and attachments.
