The museum, built between 1914 and 1922, will undergo comprehensive renovation between spring 2025 and autumn 2028. The planned measures include the modernization and renovation of all floors (5 in total, including the basement and attic), with a focus on the structural measures required for the redesign of the permanent exhibition on the 1st and 2nd upper floors, as well as the redesign and restructuring of visitor infrastructure, educational areas, the museum shop and the restaurant. At the same time, the technical building equipment will be completely renewed to ensure that future requirements relating to museum operations, energy demand and conservation conditions are met. The sanitary facilities in the building will be completely renovated, including all components, materials and ancillary services required for this purpose. This includes all installations for the drinking water, wastewater and rainwater systems, the required fittings, piping systems with all fittings, shut-off and safety valves, drainage fixtures, sanitary fixtures and all necessary fastening, insulation and connection materials. Main works: - installation of the drinking water, wastewater and rainwater systems, including all pipes, fittings and valves, - installation of the lifting systems to ensure protection against backflow, - supply and installation of the hot-water preparation system, including instantaneous water heaters and, where applicable, storage or decentralized supply systems, - installation of hygiene flushing systems to ensure drinking-water hygiene, - installation of a water-softening system/reverse-osmosis system for treating process water for parts of the restoration workshops, - fire-protection-compliant construction of all necessary penetrations and core drillings, - thermal and condensation-protection-compliant insulation of the sanitary pipes, - performance of leak tests, functional tests, flushing and disinfection work, as well as preparation of all documents required for acceptance, including test reports, hygiene documentation, manufacturer documentation and as-built plans. Note regarding multiple contracting authorities: Please note that the bill of quantities serves for the joint procurement of construction, servicing and maintenance works commissioned by two different contracting authorities. Further details can be found in the information sheet “Multiple Contracting Authorities.” Note regarding execution deadlines: Execution (including preparatory work, in particular workshop and installation planning) must begin immediately after the contract is awarded. The work must be completed no later than 20.12.2027, taking the trial-operation period into account. Individual deadlines for completion of execution: - Vertical access by 20.12.2026 (in sections accompanying construction, proportionate to the overall contract, in coordination with the overall contract, as instructed/agreed by BÜ), - Overall preliminary installation by 28.02.2027 (in sections accompanying construction, proportionate to the overall contract, in coordination with the overall contract, as instructed/agreed by BÜ), - Completion no later than 20.12.2027, - Trial operation in partial services: initial operation from 30.08.2027. Individual deadlines for commencing execution of individual services at the place of performance: - Vertical access from 31.08.2026, - Overall preliminary installation from 31.08.2026.
