_Overhaul_ZF_axle_gearboxes_light rail vehicles DT8_10-11 Stuttgarter Straßenbahnen AG operates public transport in the city of Stuttgart and the adjacent districts with 224 light rail vehicles of the DT8 series. The various light rail vehicle series are designated DT8.4, DT8.S, DT8.10/11 and DT8.12-15. ZF Friedrichshafen AG E-SH 10 L axle gearboxes are installed in the bogies of vehicle series DT8.10/11 (built from 1999 to 2005). The axle gearbox is a spur gear hollow-shaft axle gearbox from the HSH series of ZF Friedrichshafen AG. From July 2027 to 2035, a total of 405 ZF E-SH 10 L axle gearboxes (20 units with manufacturer number 5080.071.020 and 385 units with manufacturer number 5080.071.044) are to undergo an overhaul. The overhaul of the ZF E-SH 10 L axle gearboxes includes the replacement of relevant components as well as the complete inspection and testing of the gearboxes. Based on the plan of 28 bogie overhauls per year, this results in an average annual quantity of 56 gearboxes. The annual quantity to be offered must allow a deviation of +16 or -8 units.
