In the Audio and Media Technologies division of Fraunhofer IIS, scientists and engineers have been working on digital audio signal processing and digital audio coding for more than 25 years. With its significant involvement in the development of the mp3 and AAC audio coding methods, Fraunhofer IIS has become known worldwide. Over the past two decades, Fraunhofer IIS has licensed audio coding software to more than 1,000 companies and enabled more than ten billion commercial products. The most important current developments in the audio field include the xHE-AAC codecs for streaming and digital radio, as well as MPEG-H Audio, which allows TV viewers to customize the sound individually. Fraunhofer IIS is seeking a contractor to provide programming services as part of the “Android system development for audio applications” project.
