As part of the ÖFS, biotope type mapping is to be carried out in 2027 on a total of 36 specified sample plots. The ÖFS is part of the biodiversity monitoring program of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and has been conducted since 1997 on survey plots that change annually by field biologists as part of field mapping. The mapping results from the 191 randomly distributed sample plots across the state, each measuring 100 hectares, are extrapolated and used as statistically representative state-wide values for EU, federal, and state reports. The 29 reference plots serve as comparison plots in priority nature conservation areas. As part of the ÖFS, biotope type mapping is to be carried out in 2027 on a total of 36 specified sample plots. Each of the 36 sample plots constitutes a separate lot. Comprehensive biotope type mapping is to be carried out on the ÖFS plots. For each mapping unit, the data specified in the service description must be collected in the prescribed form. Mapping is carried out across the entire area of each 100-hectare survey site. The mapping work must be carried out within the specified periods in accordance with the service description. In particular, the phenological characteristics of the respective elevation must be taken into account. The applicable survey periods can be found in the service description. In addition, the service includes the collection, transport, and preservation of plant material to detect transgene sequences as part of GMO testing. Plant material shall be collected exclusively on public land; cultivated arable land is excluded. After completion of the fieldwork, the collected data must be entered digitally in accordance with the requirements of the service description using the data collection software provided by the contracting authority. The digitized data (geospatial and attribute data) must then be exported in the formats specified by the contracting authority and transmitted to it. The quality of the collected and digitized data will be reviewed by the contracting authority using automated plausibility checks and a technical review. Procedure: open.
