Opportunity description
I. General description: The Trier-Land Verbandsgemeinde plans to build a central Fire Protection and Training Center in Newel in order to consolidate the supraregional functions of the Verbandsgemeinde fire brigade, utilize synergies and increase operational readiness. In the future, the building is intended to provide space not only for the secure accommodation of vehicles, but also for the storage and organization of a wide range of equipment. In addition to the aforementioned facilities, training and meeting rooms will be provided, not only for regular training sessions and information on new techniques, regulations and deployment strategies, but also for the centralized education and further training of the fire brigade personnel throughout the Trier-Land Verbandsgemeinde. The training area will be completed by a training yard and a training wall, which are specially designed for practical instruction and training. The fire brigade’s workshop areas will be supplemented by additional office and workshop areas of the Verbandsgemeinde (municipal works yard, forestry special-purpose association) in order to cover a broader range of inspection, maintenance and repair work. The ground floor and the upper floor of the two-story building structure are planned as a solid reinforced concrete construction with a high degree of prefabrication. The exterior walls consist of reinforced concrete cavity walls, will be thermally insulated and will receive an aluminum curtain wall with free profile geometry. The vehicle hall is to be constructed as a conventional reinforced concrete frame structure. The partition wall between the vehicle hall and the adjoining ancillary room program is planned as a reinforced concrete thermal wall. Inside, the reinforced concrete cavity walls are intended to remain predominantly exposed. The roof structure, in the form of a green roof with a PV system, rests on reinforced concrete girders and consists of a trapezoidal sheet-metal load-bearing shell as a warm-roof structure, with acoustic perforations on the underside.
