Germany – Sludge transport services – Market consultation for the extraction and transport of iron sludge

Opportunity description

Hamburger Wasserwerke GmbH (HWW) is currently examining whether to award all or part of the service outlined below as part of a procurement procedure. To further specify and structure a potential procurement project, HWW is conducting a non-binding market consultation and requests pricing and technical assessments from market participants. The aim of the market consultation is to gain a better understanding of the services, solution approaches and pricing structures available on the market. In addition to an assessment of the service content described below, HWW is also interested in alternative, innovative or conceptually advanced solution approaches, provided that they are suitable for meeting the underlying needs more efficiently, economically or with better quality. The findings obtained as part of this market consultation serve exclusively to prepare a possible procurement procedure. There is no entitlement to the conduct of a procurement procedure or to the award of a contract. The aim of the service is the extraction and transport of iron sludge from drinking water treatment at 14 sites of Hamburger Wasserwerke GmbH. The following scope of services is expected: •Complete emptying and rough cleaning of settling basins in which iron sludge with approx. 5% DS is temporarily stored. Process water and hose material for rough cleaning will be provided by the contracting authority. •Transport of the iron sludge to a dosing station operated by Hamburger Wasserwerke GmbH. The iron sludge is unloaded there via an A-hose connection into a dosing storage tank. The transported quantity is measured and can be used as the basis for invoicing. Depending on the site, the settling basins are emptied one to three times per year. The respective deployments can be scheduled in advance in an annual plan with several months’ lead time. Please specify which vehicles would be used to carry out the extraction and subsequent transport. Please also explain how it will be ensured that the contracting authority only has to provide instructions for the performance of the service once and that personnel changes at the contractor do not result in any renewed training or instruction effort.
