Opportunity description

The subject of the tender is the acquisition of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) licenses, including support/subscription, as well as the provision of professional implementation services over 24 months. The procurement is to be structured as an alternative option model so that the two license variants on which the requirement is based can be offered and evaluated comparably. Heidelberg University Hospital (UKHD) operates an extensive virtualized server and infrastructure environment based on VMware technologies. The VMware platform is a central component for the operation of business-critical systems and applications within the data center infrastructure. In addition, VMware products are used in the areas of virtualization and network and security segmentation. To ensure proper operation, license compliance, and access to manufacturer support, security updates, and product updates, the procurement of corresponding VMware licenses or VMware subscription and support services is required. The procurement includes the provision of the required VMware licenses, including the associated manufacturer services, for the contractually specified term. The aim of this tender is the economical, legally compliant, and needs-based procurement of the required VMware licenses, including the associated subscription and support services. This is intended to permanently ensure the operability of the existing virtualization platform and guarantee the provision of the manufacturer services required for productive operation. The tender is addressed to capable companies authorized by the manufacturer that have demonstrable experience in the sale and management of VMware licensing models and in supporting comparable enterprise environments.
