At BWB's sewage treatment plants and wastewater pumping stations, the PI System from AVEVA (formerly OSIsoft) is used for the long-term archiving of process data. Berliner Wasserbetriebe currently operates 9 PI Data Archive Servers. These are supplied with data via approximately 50 OPC Interfaces. In total, the measured values, up to 40,000–50,000 data points, are collected and archived at the smallest possible resolution (> 1 second). They serve as a data source for the Asset Framework, PI Vision, a simulation server, as well as for external customers who need to access live and historical data. The PI System's API interface is also required for this purpose. The retention of historical data goes back to 1999. It includes all existing measured values and data points. These are permanently mapped in the PI Data Archive and are therefore available for retrieval within milliseconds at any time.
